The SW trip – day 6
Day Six dawned and we hit the road after breakfast, but I was still feeling the effects of the altitude sickness. We drove a mere 60 miles and I wasn’t enjoying the scenery. It was all I could do to keep from nodding off. When we reached Torrey, the last small town before entering Capitol Reef, we opted to stop at a motel before continuing. I didn’t want to miss any more of the gorgeous red rock scenery we were traveling through and Eric graciously agreed. We lucked out and they let us have room at 1 pm (well before the usual 3 pm check in). I conked out for about three hours while Eric went out to explore Capitol Reef on his own.
I woke up feeling a whole lot better and ready to explore some of the magical scenery surrounding us. I’ll just give you a slideshow (click on any image to start). All the images were taken that day in Capitol Reef National Park. The clouds and light couldn’t have been more perfect.
Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.
