Getting some decent shots of the Rufous hummingbird male we’ve named Bubba (the redneck) since he’s taken to perching in this one spot guarding against any intruders. He
wastes spends so much energy chasing off any who venture into his territory, it’s a wonder he doesn’t waste away altogether. But I do appreciate the moments when he manages to sit still between battles. They are so much fun to watch with their squabbles. Who needs TV?
Still no shots of the male Anna’s with its magenta gorget. Perhaps I’ll get a chance once Bubba moves on.
