goose, goose

Coming in for a landing. For once I wasn’t presented with the usual butt shots! šŸ˜‰

If you feel the urge, don’t be afraid to go on a wild goose chase. What do you think wild geese are for anyway?Ā

The next generation.

ā€œ…whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh & exciting – over & over announcing your place in the family of things.ā€

    • I’m learning that you have to sit still in order to catch the front end of these wild critters. I’m still learning even after all these years. šŸ˜‰

    • The family group you liked had some older goslings. I think the other ones, with the smaller babies, were trying to chase off anything that got too close. It also seems that they may have lost a few because I suspect it’s rare for them to have just a few.

    • Thank you. It was fantastic to have them flying right at me for a change. I think we’re ahead of much of the country. Feels like summer almost.

    • Yep… goslings already and in different stages of size and development. All in the same shrinking bit of pond (flooded field). That’s what all the hissing was about I suspect.

  1. Animalcouriers, laughing! And Gunta, I get the feeling at the last moment they realized they were facing you the wrong way – tried to turn it around?

  2. I really love how you’ve captured the symmetry of the geese as they come in to land! The family shots are great too. I’m not averse to going on a “wild goose chase”. The fun is in the searching, and often you find something completely different along the way. One disappointment can be replaced by a delightful surprise.
The Mary Oliver quote is lovely and is very appropriate to my life at this moment. Thank you.

    • Honestly, the geese did all the synchronized landing bit. I just happened to be there to catch it. Yesterday was a wild goose chase for us. Actually not all that wild… it was one of those peaceful meandering sort of days, with delightful surprises (like the geese)! Glad, as always, that you enjoyed!
