stormy seas

We’ve been getting our share of storms lately… they’re pretty exciting and wonderful.storm-3054As long as I live, I’ll hear waterfalls and birds and winds sing. I’ll interpret the rocks, learn the language of flood, storm, and the avalanche. I’ll acquaint myself with the glaciers and wild gardens, and get as near the heart of the world as I can.

    • We’ve had some pretty amazing weather for sure. After the storm (Saturday) we were out kayaking on the most perfect day with the weather sunny and the lake mirror smooth.

    • The weather patterns are pretty crazy and varied out here. We had some terrific wind gusts one day, but overall the storms haven’t done much damage in our part of the state. I think I’m getting a bit too old to do anything too crazy, but it’s exciting to be out to see those crashing waves.

  1. We’ve had some crazy storms of late in Brisbane. I drove through one with hail stones yesterday. It’s pretty common for our state to have cyclones in summer. The power of a wild rough sea is amazing and sometimes frightening to view. I’m glad I’m not out there in a boat! Great pic and I love reading John Muir quotes. Thanks. 🙂

    • I’m glad you enjoyed this image. The storm pictured above sailed on by and we had a couple of days of perfect kayaking weather. I am really falling in love with being out on the calm, still water… just floating along and enjoying the scenery.

    • Thanks, Lavinia. We’ve had some wonderful alternating weather here. Some stormy days like the one pictured here and then pure sunshine where the water (including the ocean) is so still it’s almost eerie.
