Meandering with camera…
One final look back at the glow left by the setting sun… and tomorrow should bring the wind and rain of a typical Oregon winter storm.Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.
― Victor Hugo, Les Misérables
I wish I could sit and stare at this all day, so wonderfully calm and soothing.
Pity sunset only comes once a day! 😉
Glorious colours and textures again.
Quite the change from the usual seascapes, but it has its own unique beauty.
Love the delicate grasses against the sky.
Thankfully those grasses help to keep the dunes in place and not swept away. They do add a lovely touch, too.
At first I dismissed the sand dunes as just something to trudge through to get to the ocean but I have come to appreciate them for the character they add to the coastline, and they enhance your image too! Nice… 🙂
Thanks, John. Much depends on the extent and the character of the dunes. For the most part, they do add interest as you noted.
Another beautiful scene, and I love your comment, Gunta. The scene (with your comment) says “stay tuned”.
Thanks… there is likely to be further adventures indeed. I love getting out before, during and after the storms. It adds to the experience and makes for some extra pizazz to the images.
I’m looking forward to your next post.
Love the silhouette of the grass in the foreground.
Lovely scene Gunta. The soft dreamy quality is very appealing (and relaxing).
So very glad you enjoyed it.
Winter rain sound cold to me, I like the glow in your photo!
Luckily the Pacific Ocean tends to moderate our temperatures, so they’re in a range I prefer. Winter rains or storms simply add excitement to any adventures.
Another really beautiful sunset. A perfect end to the day. How is your weather today? We have grey skies and lots of wind which is making the palm trees go absolutely crazy. 🙂
Today was simply marvelous with the aftermath of a storm providing lots of wild waves, but I’ll probably back up to a drive into the mountains a few days ago during the rainy spell before I get to posting today’s catch. 🙂 I’m simply loving this weather we’ve been having.

All sounding great. 🙂
There is such a soft, peaceful beauty to this image. Simply lovely. 🙂
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Robin.
Yup….caught G falling into a funk about the rain yesterday and I reminded him the glorious greens we have here, the wonderful abundance of the summer harvests…..the joy when the sun breaks through. Appreciation for rainbows. All part and parcel of the rainy winter.
I tend to fall into a funk when it comes to summertime. I’m loving the storms that come barreling in providing marvelous clouds, rainbows and scrumptious sunsets.
Beautiful, peaceful photo, Gunta! I grew up seeing sunrise on the Atlantic, and it is still quite a treat for me to watch the sun set over the Pacific. Each has quite a different feel to it.
I left the East Coast before I became enthralled with landscape photography and sunsets over the Pacific suit me just fine since I’m not one of them early birds.
You’re so lucky to live in an area where you can shoot so many beautiful sunsets as often as you do!
The secret is that a single sunset has lasted me through some three posts! I don’t get to the beach every single day usually, but I stay to watch the show unfold. 🙂
The rain feels nice…more like normal.
I have to agree about enjoying the rain. I certainly missed it during the summer months. The sunsets prior to the incoming storms have been pretty nice though.
Lovely photo by the way
What an excellent way to say good night to all…Well done.
Thank you, Charlie. Sleep tight! 🙂
Love the quote and the restful colours of this.
So very glad you enjoyed them!
