…from both sides now

a roll cloud over Bandon Marina…cloud-2242Rows and flows of ย angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air

And feather canyons everywhere
I’ve looked at clouds that way.

  1. A beautiful West Coast scene Gunta – almost makes me miss my boat. Judy Collins did a wonderful rendition of Both Sides Now as have many other over the years. It was written by Joni Mitchell and she has recorded two very different versions of the song – the 2000 is particularly evocative..

    • Ah, you’re so right. I had forgotten it was Joni Mitchell who actually wrote the song. I remembered the Judy Collins version best because I had the album, but Joni adds more punch to all her songs.

  2. Just from the title of your blog alone I knew what song you were referencing! I was already planning to quote some of it here in comments but you best me to it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. What scenes you get yourself into the middles and periferies of, too divine. I can feel the salt in the air and the quiet from the massive low cloud. A good friend who knows from skies and sailing ships and far off lands said she’d never seen clouds looking the way they look this year, something all different about them on our west coast. Clever earth doing atmospheric rearranging. I love that song, too; it’s a real beauty.

    • I think I’m in love with this spot on earth and I suppose it shows? Actually, I’m still digging through archives because, yes, the skies have been too bright and sunny and cloudless for any decent pictures. I’m not too happy about that. This shot was from back in 2010 or 2011, before I had the fancy camera.
