First harvest

Don’t know if it exactly qualifies as a “harvest”, but it’s the first time I’ve had grapes show up on the vines…. not a whole lot of them, but they’re tasty. NO idea what kind they are (I wasn’t here when they were planted.)grapes-6757A doctor can bury his mistakes, but an architect can only advise his clients to plant vines.Β

  1. Glad you got to them before the birds did! The grapes look smallish, and I was going to guess champagne grapes. Looks like someone who actually knows identified them as chardonnay grapes. What do I know? By the time I get the wine bottle uncorked, I can’t see any grapes in there.

    • I don’t have a clue what they are. The first one I tasted was still completely yellow and quite sour, but then I found the ones in the image and they were truly yummy. That’s enough for me! πŸ˜€

    • They are wonderful and a brilliant surprise. They were here four years ago when I moved here. These three small bunches that I almost missed, hidden behind the leaves were a splendid surprise.

    • They are superbly delicious. A very delicate sweet flavor. So far, this first year of grapes, there are only three small bunches. I’m hoping they increase in time. Not sure what ‘kitten’ vines are. Perhaps young ones like mine?
