somewhere near infinity

This was shot last February. I had driven a friend to the airport in Eugene (the nearest reasonable sized airport, a mere 3 hour drive from home.) Rather than racing back on the Interstate, I opted to take the slower scenic route along the coast. The weather was perfect while my visitor was here, but then there was a storm approaching. I had to stop to catch some of the fantastic skies that were unfolding as the sun went down….NoCoast-1574A man’s work is nothing but this slow trek to rediscover, through the detours of art, those two or three great and simple images in whose presence his heart first opened.

  1. It is so unusual to see a sky where the texture touches the sea, rather than the usual band of plain sky between distinguishable clouds and horizon. Perhaps it is the pollution here that affects things. Anyway, a balm, as ever.
