up on the cliff

The surf was so wild and there was very little beach… none in places, so I opted to stay up on the cliffs this evening. The wild waves don’t show very well in this shot, but I liked the sun peeping through the mist, playing peek-a-boo. This is looking down at a section where I often zoom in on waves while I’m down on the beach.Coquille_pt-3092The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware.Β

  1. The front rock on the right almost reminds me of a sphinx. πŸ™‚ I love your quote – and your inspiring photo! And you!

  2. It’s so difficult to get across how wild the ocean is on these occasions unless you can get close and quite sensibly Gunta, you opted to stay on the cliff. πŸ™‚ Difficult to share but I’m sure you enjoyed watching. πŸ™‚

    • Oh, Chilli, you are so right about not being able to capture the sheer essence and wonder of a wild beach from on high, but it was still marvelous to be there and enjoy it.

  3. How the elements fill us! We are so moved by earth wind and fire and sea, and this planet this heavenly home. Beautiful photograph, Gunta. An amazing moment captured again.
I don’t think Henry Miller ever got close to what he touted. But you have.

  4. Not sure I am going to make it through the summer here in the east with you posting some dreamy images of your coastline Gunta. Terry may awake someday to find me gone! πŸ™‚
