Meandering with camera…
Oh! to be that gull looking down on that splash……We lead our lives like water flowing down a hill, going more or less in one direction until we splash into something that forces us to find a new course.
― Arthur Golden, Memoirs of a Geisha
Oh my goodness! I soo wish I lived there.
Presumably not on top of that rock? 😉
I really like the light – and the sea spray, of course!
Wow, what an awesome view he must have! Phenomenal image..the wave splash, the gull, the beautiful reflections…the whole package!
I really get a kick out of them ubiquitous gulls. Thanks for the sweet words! 🙂
~ soulful ~
What a vantage point he has! Now this is truly a Gunta shot…love it! 🙂
Oh my! I’ve finally reached that stage of having a “Gunta” shot! Truth be told, I’m often drawn to that particular spot. There’s something so dramatic about it.
And your photograph it with such panache! 🙂
And, god, all of those things we splash into along the way!!
Yes, that gull has a perfect spot, doesn’t he?
All of that rock is fascinating, for some reason…wonderful image, Gunta. 🙂
With any luck we don’t get dashed upon them rocks. They do give the gull that perfect perch and they also create those fantastic splashes. 😉
Thank you dear Scott….
Superb composition: stability, calm, violence. And your exposure of the shadows and highlights is perfect! Great image.
Wow! I really appreciate all the excellent praise indeed! 😀 Such a pity the seals had moved off those rocks in the middle there.
Yes indeed – would be lovely to fly up and grab the bird’s eye view. Not doing too bad from your humble position 😉
Not that I was complaining about the view I have, but that bird’s eye view would be mighty fine.
simply grand! I love the mountains but oh do I miss the ocean!
I feel like I have the best of both worlds since the mountains stretch clear down to the beach in places. Though perhaps not as grand as the Rockies or the Cascades, but they’ll do…. 🙂
I love the feel of this photo…..calm in the foreground and not so in the background. The lighting is also superb 🙂
Thanks, Ingrid. It’s turned out to be my favorite spot for catching some spectacular waves.
Oh! to be Gunta looking at that gull 😀
I think wings would be a mighty useful addition to my kit Gunta. 🙂
I’d certainly go for that!
I can’t say for sure, but I think that you had the better view, at least it looks that way in your photo.
As in the comment above, I believe I was thinking of having wings to fly over those tremendous waves.
I like this one Gunta – full of drama!
Thanks, Andrew. I’m glad you liked it.
Spectacular scene, Gunta, especially for the gull. 🙂
I can’t help but wonder if the gulls enjoy the scene, or are just thinking about their next meal. 🙂
We’ll never know. 😀
So striking. Splendid that such views are in your life.
And I can’t begin to describe how much I appreciate and treasure them.
