Mount Shasta revisited

About three weeks ago, I did a loop that included Ashland, Oregon to Mt Shasta, California and back to Oregon’s Klamath Falls. I felt like I didn’t spend enough time exploring around Shasta, so I returned. I was amazed to find that most of the snow from the earlier trip had just about disappeared. What a stark contrast. Shasta-9932Mount Shasta as seen from Lake Siskiyou.

Give me struggle, iron, volcanoes.

  1. From the scenery like this I get as much positive energy and inspiration as I do from the sea (well, a bit more from these, must admit since Taurus is an earth sign after all :)! ). Stunning photo, Gunta – I do envy you for the views you have around. But yes, it’s that “white Latvian envy” I have mentioned before, not the green one.

    • Thanks! It was around 2 pm and I was shooting pretty much NE toward the peak. I was looking for a reflection shot, but the water was a bit too rough, so this one will have to suffice.

    • We had that monster storm (remnants of a typhoon from the west) that dumped the snow in late September. Since then it’s been hot and totally dry, so most of that snow has melted.
Thanks… I struggled with adding interest since there was no sign of any clouds to add interest to the sky. But I just noticed that I tend to ignore the “rule of thirds” a lot! 😉
