seasons change

autumn-9768Our weather can’t seem to make up its mind anymore than this tree apparently. As the leaves change color in bits and pieces. autumn-9773Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.

    • About a month ago it was looking like we weren’t going to get any color at all and then it burst forth quite spectacularly and unexpectedly. It was truly grand!

    • Actually, except for some vine maple and poison oak, our woods don’t get any red either. Both of the above trees were foreigners planted in someone’s yard (mine, in the second image.)

    • Yeah… and here I thought we didn’t get fall color around here! That Japanese Maple (2nd image) is in my front yard, but the two previous falls we had storms come through that stripped the leaves before they put on their show. This year, I had tried several time to get out there to catch the sun lighting up those brilliant leaves, but it was always too windy. FINALLY made a lucky catch….. 😉
Of course the other maple is a foreign import in someone’s yard, too.

    • Thanks, but sorry to hear you’re not getting any color. About a month ago, I didn’t think we were getting any either and then someone turned the color switch on. What a nice surprise that was. 🙂

    • I’ve been watching that Japanese Maple in my front yard as the sun plays on the leaves. Previous attempts were too windy, but I finally caught that magical moment of stillness for that shot.

    • This tree was utterly amazing! It was huge and different areas were different colors and shades. I was so enthralled by it that I drove right past my destination for staring at it.
