    • I had a really hard choosing a favorite, but I’d give the middle one a slight edge. In real life I generally like the old-fashioned roses (like the second one) best…. they’re often hardier and the scent is more delicious.

    • I get to go there fairly often and try to catch it in all the various seasons (and weather). I was lucky with the lighting this time and the roses themselves were in perfect shape. Prior attempts missed this state of near-perfection.

    • I never did well with roses either… same acid soil and the wet weather wasn’t kind either, but if you have an army of gardeners apparently anything becomes possible. This park is situated on the cliffs right above the beach, so the winds can be fierce, but they’ve created a protected space for the roses with trees and shrubs. Perhaps on my next trip I might attempt to show more of the garden landscape itself.

    • What a lovely title for them…. they are so much like queens with their beauty and heavenly scents, but needing lots of pampering in our damp climate. 😀 I’m definitely watching out for them thorns.

    • Thanks, Jerry. It was a perfect day with just enough sunshine breaking through the clouds and surrounding trees. I couldn’t have wished for more perfect conditions.
