duck duck

a lonely little bufflehead out for an evening swim…duckduck-0671The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

  1. Lovely light, reflection and mood here Gunta! That quote is a keeper…I may have to borrow it! In case I can’t get back here for a few days, I just want to wish you a very Merry Christmas my friend!

  2. Perfect quote to go with a fabulous picture. Great composition & tonality, you even got the singular wake trailing the brave little bufflehead. One must imagine that she is joyously charting unknown waters.

    • Thank you much, John. Loved the way the image and the quote just slid together. (Ahem, it’s a “he” though…. since the female is a bit more drab in coloring.) :D

  3. Owning ourselves….your Neitzche quote, the real horror being that it is a
sentence in existance at all in any language, indicaating the opposite must
be true. I remind myself all the time I am Me I belong to ME. And like your duck
know the freedom and grace of solitude. Merry Christmas, friend.

Oh please do....
