Home….
Just arrived a few hours ago. I’m a bit tired and groggy so I won’t even try to tackle the story of this trip just yet. But I will toss in a shot from today’s drive.
Avenue of the Giants Scenic Byway. A closer look at a Redwood Tree. There will likely be more after I get settled and organized.
Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach, undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life.
― Hermann Hesse, Bäume. Betrachtungen und Gedichte
I posted pictures from the same location back in May, 2012 HERE and HERE.

I’m looking forward to hearing more about your trip. Great redwood photo Gunta.
I’m already working on day three and the first day of the photo workshop. It’s like double the fun reliving it through the blog.
I can almost smell the forest richness…wonderful….
And thank you for Herr Hesse’s words, too…equally rich and compelling….
Yes, that soggy rich smell of the forest. Nothing quite like it. Herr Hesse had some quite wonderful words to offer.
Looks very peaceful
Oh it was! Best time to visit the usually busy Redwoods.
Looking forward to seeing more!
Me, too!
Seriously… I have so many to images to sort through, but it was a wonderful learning experience and such great fun besides.
There’s very much…serenity in this one I like a lot.
And definitely happy to see you’ve returned home safely!
I am pooped, and swamped and have so much to catch up on, but it was all entirely worth it.
I’m glad you’re home safely Gunta and very much looking forward to your upcoming posts. This is a lovely photo.
It’s good, indeed, to be home again… though I really didn’t want the workshop or the trip to end (until the very end of the last day). I just hope my next posts don’t turn out to be anticlimactic after all this build-up!
Looking forward to seeing all your new pics!
Me, too!
welcome back
thank you….
A good nigh’s sleep in your own bed should help
That might have done the trick, but I think I need a few more of those.
Looking forward to what is to come.
I’m sure you know that the tough part for me will be the text…. or trying to remember it all in some orderly fashion.
