Weekly Photo Challenge: free spirit

I suspect the theme was meant to convey human spirit, but I shall anthropomorphize…..To be free as a bird…..

It could not have come down to us so far,
Through the interstices of things ajar
On the long bead chain of repeated birth,
To be a bird while we are men on earth
–Robert Frost

Spirit, spirit of gentleness,
blow through the wilderness, calling and free,
Spirit, spirit of restlessness,
stir me from placidness, wind, wind on the sea.
—James K. Manley

Then again……

There is no such thing as a free lunch.
—AnonymousDown the hatch…..

and off we go….

Then to the elements
Be free, and fare thou well!
—Shakespeare

[It's a double-crested Cormorant.]

    • Thanks ever so much for your lovely comment! I’ve found that more than half the fun of taking these photos is sharing with folks who appreciate them. It was so much fun catching the cormorant with the fish in its mouth.
