Plenty of people miss their share of happiness, not because they never found it, but because they didn't stop to enjoy it. – William Feather
Coos Bay and North Bend are two cities perched along the Bay. It’s impossible to distinguish where one ends and the other begins unless you happen to notice the signs announcing city limits. They are the closest thing to a big city near me. It was such a lovely day that I opted to do a bit of meandering and snapped some pics while I was at it.

Just beyond North Bend and closer to the mouth of the Bay sits Charleston, another sleepy fishing village.
Just a small part of the fishing fleet…
Of course there’s always this alternative….

There’s just something especially beautiful about reflections of boats on the water. Lovely shots!
Thank you and I agree about something truly magic about boat reflection on the water.
The Yaquina looks so colorful and bright in the sunlight. It’s a much different look from when it is approaching in the mist. What a beautiful ship -either way!
I almost wondered if it might not have had a paint job in the interim. What struck me as fun was that we both took shots of it from different locations and then posted them. I’d like to get to know more about it somehow…
Agreed!
Now I really wish to have a chance to visit Oregan… Nice photos!!
Wow, gorgeous. Love this pics. Love the place
I LOVE the 2 guys fishing and the boat reflections photos!
Yup, those two were my favorites, too. You may have to teach me some basics about fishing boats when you get back to this coast… Did I make you homesick?
yes actually! it will be good to get back home. these photos made me think of my darling husband who’s out at sea fishing.
AWESOME WORK!!…..these shots are so clear, crisp and OH SO….inviting….all this ‘sunshine’ is making me positively giddy and since Kai and I are stuck inside for a while…your photographs….are the next best thing to being out there….THANK YOU !!
Thanks Kirsten. All this sunshine is almost getting right to edge of being a bit too warm for me. I’m having to leave Sissy at home more when I go out now because of the heat.
yep….I had to leave Kai at home yesterday when I went out to run some errands….I am one of those…who like a little sunshine…mixed in with clouds and cool temps….but…that’s just me.
What a nice little trip this morning…thank you, Miss Gunta, for the beautiful pics and vacation from my cubicle. The IT guy did bring me a new 19″ monitor this morning, so it’s a bigger and better picture for visiting.
So happy to give you a nice little break… all in 19 whole inches. Wow! (I assume it was to enable you to enjoy the blogs better!)
I do appreciate it…and yes, a whole 19..and I didn’t mention my private pursuits when sitting here at the county’s desk looking at their computer screen….
You really captured an excellent day with your images.
Thank you, it was indeed a lovely day.
Looks lovely there, Gunta. Great pics. I’ve been to Charleston, but only passing through.
I can’t help but wonder if it’s the same Charleston. We have lots of them. Mine is on the Pacific Ocean in Oregon. The more famous one over here is on the Atlantic in South Carolina.
Ah memories of the 1970s, even went deep sea fishing off Coos Bay, but caught none.
