veggie stir-fry

One of my favorite easiest meals.  Ingredients vary according to what Harvest Basket (CSA) has provided.

Stir fry veggies in olive oil:

(Ingredients are whatever happens to be on hand)  In this case it was:

  • onions (Walla Walla)
  • mushrooms
  • chard, red stems chopped and included
  • purple cabbage
  • brocolli, stems chopped and included (I peel the really thick, main stem)
  • sesame seeds
  • Pistol River -Mushroom Ultimate Seasoning (optional)

Add soy sauce, then precooked brown rice with lentils (for the balanced protein)…  heat and enjoy!

  1. Thanks for the comment. Found your “10 reasons to join a CSA” at your site and have to agree. Totally. Have truly enjoyed the weekly load of wonderful tasting veggies. So far, the only one I’ve had a problem with has been fennel. Can’t quite get into the taste, but I may try at least a few more recipes before I give up on it.

I simply love the movement to keep smaller, local farms going. Not just for their benefit, but very much for my own. I’m becoming so spoiled that buying supermarket vegetables doesn’t seem worth the $$ or the effort. Whatever shall I do when our season ends?

  2. Yum! That looks great!

And you’ve been busy! I love all the photos! What gorgeous views you have! Now I remember why I wanted to live in Oregon after visiting you. And I definitely like the angles of your photos of the other house better. It makes sense–you know your house better than the realtor.
